Fort Lauderdale Florida fishing report

Report Date: July 11, 2008

This week has given us great conditions to head offshore and do some fishing. The breeze has kept the day comfortable. We did live bait drifting and the action was decent. Mid mornings seemed best. The action was made up of mostly Kingfish and Bonita but a few stray Dolphin were mixed in. They were mostly short fish and released. The bottom is holding a few Snapper and when the drift allows a bait on the bottom you stand a good chance of grabbing one.

We did have an interesting trip on Tuesday when we were able to land 15 pounds of our 25 pound Amberjack. I guess the Sharks have to eat too.

This pattern should continue most of the summer. Just hope for good weather and give it a try. Every day is different and has nothing to do with what happened today so get out there and see what your luck will bring.

Sea Ya,
