Fort Lauderdale Florida deep sea fishing report

Report Date: March 15, 2010

We had a few great trips during the last week. It looks like spring is making its way into the fishing scene. The weather was great and we went offshore for some action with Sailfish, Dolphin, Bointa and Kingfish. A few Sharks are in town too and we landed one of the best trained Hammerheads that I every connected with. It came up on the kite bait and ate agressively. It went a good 200+ pounds and quickly emptied the 30 pound tackle but then decided to come right back to the boat after 15 minutes of resting on the bottom in 150' of water. It was soon swimming along side us just waiting for the release. I expected and warned about a very long battle but this Shark seemed to know that if it came to the boat quickly we would take a few photos and let it go. We did and everyone was happy.

The next few weeks will build to bring us into the best time of year to fish this area. If you pick a lucky day when the weather plays nice then you might have one of those days you see on TV catching your trophy on the waters of South Florida.

Sea Ya,
