Fort Lauderdale fishing report

Report Date: January 30, 2008

Hi. The weather has brought us a touch of cool air, clear skies and a few bent rods. The offshore scene was mostly made up of Bonita (little tunny), a few Kingfish and a scattered Dolphin and Sailfish here and there. The Sail action is still on the slow side most days because the water temps are still a bit warm for this time of year. I expect it to pick up as we get a few more cold fronts that make it south into our area. Some of the most consistent action is coming inshore with the Jack Crevalle and Barracuda. Depending on the size if the live bait you are using, the fish size varies too, but they seem to be eating every trip we try it.

As we get deeper into winter more fish will head south to play. We still have lots of good shots coming and the winter so far has been very mild.

Sea Ya,
Captain Ron
